Isabella Ruth Hamm was raised in Pittsburgh, PA and finished her Visual Arts B.A. with a Concentration in Queer Studies at Denison University in May of 2025. Invested in a multidisciplinary practice, they work in photography, digital media, painting, drawing, collage, installation, and ceramics. Informed by queer theory's critique of what is traditional, Hamm uses materials with an alternative approach and often seeks to abstract the world. Their work is driven by cross-species kinship and rooted in abstract expressionism.
